Raising the Cost

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Shipping a vehicle has its rules that must be followed.  First of all, you car must be inspected and this will document the condition of your car before it is transported. This inspection also covers and damage that the car already has so the shipping company is not claimed to be responsible.

Many people think they can fill their car with personal things and use it like a giant suitcase.  But what they don’t know is that the shipping cost goes by weight.  The more you pack into your car before it is shipped, the more it will cost you. That weight will only raise the cost of shipping and all those items will not be covered by the insurance.

If something were to happen along the way, all those items would be lost and there will be no insurance to replace them. That could be an awful experience for anyone. So cleaning out your car is part of the process and not having a full take of gas is another good idea.  Before you say, ship my car,  there is also paperwork that is needed for shipping a car. If you are crossing state line then your shipping company will let you know what is required so that there are no surprises.

Heathrow Hotels

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

If you are arriving at Heathrow Airport to visit England or if you are passing through to another destination, then you might be wanting to stay a few nights in a nearby hotel.  There are many to choose from and they can all be found online. One of the closest hotels to the airport is the Holiday Inn.

At this hotel kids eat for free and you can make use of the fitness or health center while you are there. The rooms offer an iron and an ironing board, coffee maker and hair dryer. Another close hotel is the Crowne Plaza. Here you will enjoy an indoor pool and sauna as well as a whirlpool. There are laundry facilities and kids eat free.

When you arrive and you decide that you will rent a car, then you will be able to find a car hire at Heathrow Airport. There you can make your choice from a small compact with great gas mileage all the way up to a estate car with room for everyone and their luggage. You can then drive yourself around and not use the buses or trains. This is the best way to see all of England as it gives you freedom to stop when you want and stay as long as you want.

Dealing with Debt

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Times are getting tougher these days as credit card companies as well as lenders are making things harder on their customers by limiting credit and raising rates.  We all want to reduce debt that we have created but the higher interest rates only help up to get further and further behind.

This of course does not seem fair to any of us and with the new law that will be in effect in 2010, banks are telling us they must protect their profits.  This law is supposed to help us all in the future so we can look forward to not being at the mercy of those lenders any longer.

You should waste no time when it comes to working on lowering your debt right away. If you chose to hire someone or a business to help you with your debt, then be sure that you are not getting yourself into a scam. If you find you are offered a great promise toward lowering you debt, check around and ask friends what they know before agreeing to let them handle your debt.  Debt settlement companies are not always what they claim, don’t end up worse off then you are now.

Money Saving Tips

You Work Hard – Pay Yourself for That Hard Work
You work hard every day, getting up early and working late to make ends meet. Why not reward yourself with a daily stipend? The catch is that this daily payment will be used to get your emergency fund off the ground.

Paying yourself first is a classic and time tested technique for saving money. By paying yourself a dollar, five dollars or more each day you force yourself to live on the money that is left. This forced savings is a great way to jump start your savings no matter how much or how little you make.

It may not seem like much, but even a couple of dollars a day can really add up. And when coupled with other tried and true savings techniques you may be surprised at how fast that emergency fund can grow. And simply seeing the fund grow can spur you to save even more, creating a snowball effect that can keep your rainy day fund humming right along.

Keep the Change – In Your Wallet
Another good technique for saving money is to never use coins to make purchases. Use paper currency instead, putting the coins away as you go through the day. At the end of each day put those coins away in a jar, or even an old fashioned piggy bank. You may be surprised at how fast those small coins add up.
